Formed in the stark and stirring landscapes of Mo i Rana, Norway, in 2001, Allfader quickly established themselves as a formidable force within the extreme metal scene. The name, inspired by Norse mythology, reflects the band’s deep connection to their cultural heritage and the intensity of their music. From their inception, Allfader aimed to carve a unique path in the metal world, blending ferocious sounds with thematic depth.
Allfader’s discography began with an impactful MCD released in 2002 through Rage of Achilles Records, signaling the emergence of a new, potent force in metal. This early release set the stage for a series of albums that would both define and redefine their sound. In 2006 and 2011, the band released two full-length albums under the banner of Osmose Productions, a testament to their growing reputation and musical evolution. These albums were not just collections of songs but statements of artistry, showcasing the band’s ability to meld brute force with melodic intricacy.
The band’s lineup has seen talented musicians come and go, each leaving their mark on Allfader’s sound. Despite changes and challenges, and “life getting in the way,” Allfader’s core remained unwavering in their commitment to their craft.
Recording and mixing their upcoming album, “Call of the Void,” in various locations across Mo i Rana with the help of producers Hans-Marius Ă˜verland and Kristian Granheim, and mastering it with Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark, Allfader maintained their tradition of high-quality production. Jacob Hansen, known for his work with a myriad of other bands, brought out the best in their new material, ensuring that “Call of the Void” will stand as a significant entry in their discography.
Allfader’s music speaks to the complexities of the human experience, wrapped in the power and majesty of extreme metal. The band’s decision not to tour extensively, owing to family commitments, has not dampened their spirit or their connection with fans. Instead, it has underscored their authenticity and dedication to balancing their passion for music with their personal lives.
As Allfader looks to the future, they stand ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges. Allfader remains committed to their art, their fans, and the unyielding spirit of extreme metal.
